What Readmore Does
Readmore is a browser extension that generates AI-powered explanations for text you select on web pages. When you highlight text and request an explanation, the selected text and its surrounding paragraph are sent to our server for processing.
Data We Collect
- Google account info — When you sign in, we receive your email address, name, and Google account ID via Google OAuth. This is used to create your account and manage your subscription.
- Selected text — The text you highlight and its containing paragraph are sent to our server to generate an explanation. This data is forwarded to OpenAI for processing and is not stored after the response is returned.
- Usage counts — We track how many explanations you generate per day to enforce usage limits. We do not track which articles you read or what text you select.
- Payment info — Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Browsing history or URLs you visit
- Content of pages you read
- Any data when you are not actively using the extension
- Credit card numbers (handled entirely by Stripe)
Third-Party Services
Data Retention
Your account data (email, name, subscription status) is retained as long as your account is active. Daily usage counts are reset each day. Selected text is processed in memory and not stored.
Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing lykevin890919@gmail.com. We will delete your data within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
